Our social and competition events

Club roll-ups:

Tuesdays / Fridays

Every ability welcomed.  Weather permitting these roll-ups are scheduled throughout the year

The format is as follows:

  • Arrive by 9:15am and put your disc in

  • Pairs or triples teams are drawn and the teams balanced to ensure they are reasonably well matched

  • Games start by 9:30am

  • Scores are tracked in the normal manner (1 point for each ‘team’ bowl closest to the jack)

  • Morning tea break between 10:20 and 10:35 (15 to 20 minutes break during this window)

  • Games finish by noon. 

Saturdays

The Club also runs a more competitive session throughout the year as follows:

  • April to September; arrive by 9:50am for a 10:00am start.

  • October to March; arrive by 1:20pm for a 1:30pm start.

Games are likely to include:

  • The challenge ladder (singles)

  • Pairs (teams drawn from those present)

  • Club championship games (where applicable).

More details on the Saturday event will be communicated during the season.

Competition events:

KBC competition events

The Khandallah Bowling Club runs the following competitions, commencing late September and concluding early February: 

Junior Singles:  First to score 21 points, no limit on how many ends, 4 bowls (open to players who have been a member of a bowling club for 5 or fewer years, including current season)

Championship Singles:  First to score 21 points, no limit on how many ends, 4 bowls

Championship Pairs:  18 ends, 3 bowls

Championship Triples:  18 ends, 2 bowls

Championship Fours:  18 ends, 2 bowls (traditional form of the game)

2-4-2 (two players):  16 ends, 4 bowls

Handicap Singles:  First to score 21 points, 4 bowls

Handicap Pairs:  18 ends, 3 bowls

Time limits:  2 hours 45 Minutes for all events except for singles where the time limit is 2 hours 15 minutes

Inter-club events:

Saturday Inter-Club 

The following events are played on Saturday mornings’ (9:00am to noon) from late October through to just before Christmas:

Singles: First to score 25 points, no limit on ends, 4 bowls

Pairs: 18 Ends, 3 bowls

2-4-2: 16 Ends, 4 bowls

Fours: 18 Ends, 2 bowls

Time limit: 2 hours 45 Minutes for all events except for singles where the time limit is 2 hours 15 minutes

Wednesday Pennants

The Pennants event is played on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00pm to 4:00pm (8 games are traditionally scheduled pre-Christmas and 2 games are scheduled post-Christmas):

Format:  Two teams of fours (The A team and B team).   KBC is currently in Division 2 and plays a home and away match against the other five teams in the grade.
